Frequently Asked Questions
How many hours per week do your dancers train?
We currently offer 10 hours of technique classes per week (included in monthly tuition) with the option to schedule additional Gyrotonics, private ballet class, private choreography, acro and rehearsal time. We believe in quality over quantity. A focused approach allows time for dancers to explore other interests, family and school. There is no consequence for missing class, however we strongly believe attendance in all classes provide the best training to maximize your potential.
Do your dancers compete?
Yes, many of our dancers find joy in competitions and conventions. However, you are not required to compete.
Are you required to go to any competitions?
No, if you choose to compete there are no mandatory events to attend. Impact Dance will provide a list of conventions and competitions that you are welcome to choose from, but you are free to go outside of that list. You have the flexibility to attend any event you choose based on what works best for your family.
Can my dancer compete a solo if they do not participate in group dances?
Yes, there is no requirement to participate in group dances in order to compete a solo. However, all solos must be approved by studio owners.
Do you provide opportunities for group dances?
As dancers express interest in group opportunities we will explore those. It depends on the interest of registered dancers and the commitment to our training program. Dancers would be required to commit to additional rehearsals and competitions throughout the dance season.
Are your dancers allowed to train outside of Impact Dance?
Yes! We strongly encourage outside training. Growth comes from exploring new methods and learning from different teachers and perspectives. We believe that you should not be restricted from opportunities that can elevate your artistry and strength.
